Arlene McCorry
Arlene McCorry
Nurse Practitioner, NP-PHC, BScN

Arlene McCorry is the Lead NP with the new Northern Neighbours Nurse Practitioner-Led Clinic. She has been the sole Nurse Practitioner in White River since 2003 except for a short departure in 2013. Arlene was born and raised in Schreiber then moved to Southern Ontario for post-secondary education. She received her BA from the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario then went on to obtain her nursing diploma from St Claire College in Windsor. After graduation she worked at McKellar Hospital in Thunder Bay on the medical floor. In 1987 she married Hugh and moved to Marathon where she worked at Wilson Memorial Hospital for several years before taking a position as the RN with the Marathon Family Practice. Between work and family she returned to school to pursue her BScN and her Nurse Practitioner Certification from Lakehead University, and then began her position in White River in 2003. While completing her nursing degree she worked part time at the Thunder Bay District Health Unit. She also did a short term with the then CCAC as Palliative Care NP in 2013, but her heart pulled her back to the residents of White River and the primary care that she loved.

Receptionist

Crystal Wilson is the receptionist at Northern Neighbours NPLC in White River. Crystal graduated with Honours from the Personal Support Worker (PSW) program in 2006.
Crystal grew up in Southern Ontario and has enjoyed working in the medical industry for 20yrs. Her move to Northern Ontario in 2011 was one that brought her to White River where she plans to retire with her husband Dean.
Her hobbies include reading, writing and spending time with her family (fur family included) and friends.

Lynne Thibeault
Dr. Lynne Thibeault
Consultant, NP-PHC, MEd, DNP

Lynne Thibeault is working with the Northern Neighbours Nurse Practitioner-Led Clinic (NPLC) in a consulting role to help them get up and running. She has experience with NPLCs as she was the project lead and board chair for the development and implementation of the Lakehead NPLC, the first of its kind in Thunder Bay. Thibeault has over 35 years of nursing experience in a variety of settings including education, administration, research and hands on care. She is an educator at both Lakehead University and Georgian College. Thibeault remains current in the field by practicing both at a local Community Health Centre and the emergency department. Born and raised in Northeastern Ontario, she completed a Diploma in Nursing at Cambrian College in Sudbury, then moved to Thunder Bay and completed her Post RN BScN, Masters of Education and her Nurse Practitioner, all from Lakehead University. She completed her Doctorate in Nursing Practice at the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, Minnesota. Thibeault loves the North and spends much of her spare time camping and fishing with her family.

OTN Nurse

Nathalie McCaig, is a long time resident of White River who went to Confederation College to receive her diploma as a registered practical nurse, and graduated in 2009. After graduation she worked at Wilson Memorial General Hospital for 5 years. She is now the OTN Nurse at the White River Medical Clinic and she also does Phlebotomy at the clinic. Nathalie has been an RPN nurse at the clinic since 2014.

Carolyn Burton
Clinic Administrator

Carolyn has been a resident of Northwestern Ontario for close to three decades. After raising her family, she returned to college and graduated with a 4.0 GPA in Business and Human Resources. Carolyn’s activities, both professionally and personally are guided by her top core values: compassion, equality, and honesty.
Carolyn has extensive administrative experience and solid business acumen in non-profit organizational environments. She was an integral part of the Edmonton SPCA, Ontario Aboriginal Housing, Marathon Non-profit Housing, Marathon Community Collective, Marathon Victim’s Services and Marathon Community Adjustment.
In 2013 Carolyn co-authored the Marathon Community Adjustment Report. The report focused on lowering the barriers and increasing opportunities facing the area as a result of the permanent closure of its core industry. The deliverables were comprised of hand-offs / recommendations for the small business community, education community and the volunteer community. She was extensively involved in the Volunteer Centre Business Plan which, as a deliverable, is a current strategic focus of the “Marathon Corporate Strategic Plan."
